Sacrament of Confession
Confession
We all stumble on our journey toward holiness. The Sacrament of Confession (Penance and Reconciliation) is an encounter with God’s infinite mercy, where we receive the grace to begin anew.
Through the humble act of repenting and confessing our sins, our relationship with the Church is restored, and we are given the spiritual strength to live more like Christ.
FAQs
Confession is available on Wednesday mornings and Friday afternoons:
- Wednesdays: 7:15am to 8:00am
- Saturdays: 4:30pm to 6:00pm
No matter how long it has been since your last confession, the Lord is waiting for you with open arms. The priest is there to help; simply tell the priest that it has been a long time and ask him for guidance. It is important, though, to always prepare for confession. The sacrament of confession is based on John 20:19, 22-23: On the evening of that day, the first day of the week, Jesus showed himself to his apostles. … He breathed on them, and said to them: “Receive the Holy Spirit. If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven; if you retain the sins of any, they are retained”.
